trevellanderson: ”LGBTQ & You”

Suicide is the leading cause of death for youth aged 15 to 24 years old. LGB youth are up to 4 times more likely to commit suicide than their heterosexual peers. 

This is the impetus for my program ”LGBTQ & You.” This program took a look at suicide rates within the African American community in general and suicide rates of LGB youth of color. The goal was then to focus on the action’s of ourselves that contribute to these devastating statistics - and inherently the suicidal thoughts many Men of Morehouse may be experiencing. The program also featured attendance from students of Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University.
